A little journey into the world of presentations

Today I want to make a little overview of the services for creating presentations.

When you think of presentations, you probably think of PowerPoint slides. Slides can be a little boring, and everyone’s done them before.

Therefore, here are some services with examples for creating interesting, bright and unusual presentations for learning and not only.

1. Prezi

If you’ve decided to do something different, you may have looked at Prezi as an alternative. Prezi is an online presentation program that moves through a nonlinear presentation on a path, as opposed using slides.

2. Slideshare

SlideShare allows you to share slideshow presentations, infographics, and other documents to a large audience online.

SlideShare is a popular presentation and document sharing platform owned by LinkedIn.

SlideShare has a growing number of users. At the time this tutorial was written, SlideShare's own statistics put the number of users at 80 million. There are 40 different categories and millions of slideshows have been downloaded. So, with such a large number of users, the potential to reach a large audience through SlideShare is definitely there.

Best of all, there's no cost to upload, review, or download information published on SlideShare.

Here are some benefits of using SlideShare:

1. Reach a large professional audience.

LinkedIn, the parent company of SlideShare, is a professional networking site.

2. Free to use.

3. Easy to use.

SlideShare is easy to learn how to use. And there are also some excellent third party tutorials available to help you get started quickly.

4. Builds authority.

By uploading useful and relevant information to SlideShare, you showcase your expertise in your field.

3. Google Slides

Next up on my list of presentation tools in Google Slides.

What is Google Slides used for, and how does it differ from other apps?

There are many differences between Google Slides and traditional presentation apps. Here are three key principles to keep in mind when you're learning Google Slides:

  • It's still relatively new. PowerPoint was built in the 90's. Google Slides is a browser-first experience that set the tone for how powerful apps that live inside your web browser can be.
  • It's connected. Because Google Slides is a browser-based app, it hooks into other web-connected services. That means collaboration and connecting to other apps is easy.
  • It's simplified. Google is a company that focuses on simplifying user experience. It's easy to use any of their apps so that tasks like learning how to use Google Slides is easy.
