There is nowhere without Google services

Good day, my dear readers! Today I want to introduce you to the topical and very common Google services at the moment.

Google Services for Education contains a free (and ad-free) set of tools that will allow teachers and students to interact, teach and learn more successfully and effectively.

Google develops and provides many applications and services that can be accessed in any browser window. The following Google services are the most effective in the educational process:

1. Google Docs – online office

Google Docs is a free set of web services in the form of software as a service, as well as an Internet service for cloud file storage with file sharing functions, developed by Google. Documents created by the user are saved on a special Google server, or can be exported to a file. Google Docs allows students and teachers to work remotely on shared documents and projects, and teachers to monitor and manage this work. Google Docs is an online office that includes full-fledged tools for creating text documents, spreadsheets, visual aids, PDF files and presentations, as well as sharing and publishing them on the Internet.

2. Google Calendar – online calendar

Allows users to create events, manage multiple calendars, and share calendars with teams and groups. Users can view their calendar for a day, week or month. The curriculum schedule for students can be designed in the form of a calendar, where several events — lessons or events - will be staged every day. A teacher can create such a calendar for himself or a group and set up a reminder about an event to his e-mail or by sms to a mobile phone. Thus, the teacher can even receive an SMS every day at a certain time with a reminder of his schedule for today.

The calendar helps to optimize all important tasks and events, not to keep them in mind, for fear of accidentally forgetting something.

3. Google Sites – free hosting using wiki technology

The Google Sites service is a website builder with the ability to publish videos, images, and documents. The purpose of the service, according to the developers, is "to organize a single Internet space where users will share information." The Google Sites service allows you to add a wide variety of information to the site – calendars, videos, images, documents, etc.; determine the parameters of access to the site.

4. Google Drive – single space for storing and working with your files

It allows you to work on documents simultaneously with other users - for example, to prepare a joint project with a colleague, plan any events or keep track of expenses with partners. With this service, you can upload to the cloud and have permanent access to any files, including videos, photos, PDFs, text documents and many others – a total of 30 types.

5. Gmail – Free email

It is a free email service with innovative features such as "Chain Browsing", a search-oriented interface and a large amount of disk space.

The main advantages of Google Mail:

  • This service allows you to combine several mailboxes under one account.
  • Files of various formats — text, tabular and graphic documents - can be easily attached to emails.
  • There is a keyword search in Gmail.
  • Gmail system works more than all other mail systems to protect its users from receiving spam.

Thus, the Google environment contains many tools that can be useful for individual and collaborative activities. Google services are focused on the networking of people and opportunities for communication and cooperation are important for education in this environment. And also with the help of Google services, you can organize various collective activities.
